Already!?

Where did summer go!? It's already time to go to school! My happiness about that was short lived. Having summer off meant I had to get used to it all over again. But now I've been back for a few months and don't cry anymore when Mama leaves!
Every time I get picked up from school, I say I had a great day, and I've always got a bunch of art projects filling up my backpack! Mama's favorite part about picking me up is that I always say, "I missed you, Mama!"

Pool Boy

Ahhh... what's better than hangin' at the pool? (Ok, well, if you don't have a beach nearby.) I loved my pool time this summer. I got so much better at holding my breath! I like to drop my dive sticks on the 3rd step and "swim" down to get them. Usually, I get them all in one swoop! On special days, Mama and I will go get an ice cream treat, eat it by the pool, then jump in! Maybe by next summer, I'll be swimming like a little fish!

Mr. Mischief

Uh-oh. Someone got into Mama's cheek stain! See what happens when she's blogging and leaves me to entertain myself? I was too cute for her to be mad!

Happy Fourth!

We went up to Camp St. Raphael on the 4th to give the campers a fireworks show! Happy 4th of July!

Independence Day

Happy Birthday, USA! Once again, we celebrated our nation's independence at Uncle Marco & Aunt Mere's annual bash! Nothing could make me happier than a day to swim and play with my cousins and getting to eat lots of junk food!

Dada helped Uncle Marco make his famous onion burgers. I gobbled mine up and enjoyed the fireworks until my little eyes couldn't stay open. What an awesome day. God Bless America!

Goat Show

Although I don't look super enthused in the pictures, I had a great time at the GTO show in Wichita in July. There were so many awesome goats to check out! Papa had his '69 GTO and '69 GTO Judge at the show. Can't wait for the next show! GR-RRR!!

My First Movie

Hooray! I went to my first movie in the theater! I went to see Toy Story 3 with Mama & Dada, Oma, Auntie Tini and Auntie Tracy. I was a complete angel! I sat through the entire movie without making a peep, unlike other small children that were there! I had a great time. I was so good, that the following week, Mama and I went on a date to see Despicable Me. I was a super good boy for that one, too. I was so excited to tell everyone about the movies I saw "on the big BIG tv at the theater movie!"

Failed Attempt

I don't know what to tell you. It may have been the allure of the big prize (a red Mustang)... it may have been the fact that I was confined to stay within a two-foot radius of the potty all day... for whatever reason, I tricked Mama into thinking her hard potty-training work was paying off. The celebration didn't last. Here's a quick synopsis: I was forced to stay in the kitchen and bathroom all day, because tile is easy to clean. Mama gave me lots of treats and drinks to make me feel the need to "go". I had a few accidents, I had a few "You did it!!"s. Mama was so excited. I was so proud of myself. But, as soon as I was on the carpet and outta sight, I had a BIG accident. Yikes. And that was that! From that point on, I haven't been interested in the potty. Ugh. We'll try again soon!

OU Fan Day

In May, Mama & Dada took me to OU Fan Day at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. I went out onto Owen Field where the Sooners play football! The field is so big! I had fun running around in the endzone and stepping on the letters painted on the grass that spell out O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A! We had special access to the Sooners' locker room. You might be picturing cement floors, metal lockers, and stinky wooden benches. Nope. It's totally luxe. Custom Oklahoma carpeting, flat screens, mood lighting, leather couches, and sleek wood "lockers"! Wow. I wouldn't mind taking part in that when I get older!

Workin' Out

Most of the year in Oklahoma, it's too hot or too cold outside to run around, so gymnastics is the perfect place for a guy like me to expend some energy... you know 2-year-olds have lots of it! Here I am taking a breather after making a "touchdown" at gymnastics!

There are so many activities I've been practicing at gymnastics. I literally couldn't do any of this the first time I came. It's amazing what I've accomplished with a few months of training! Here I am on the trampoline, the zipline (holding on all by myself!), in "the donut" with my buddy Chase, and walking on the balance beam without help!!

Having lots of fun! Here I am on the bungee swing, climbing the rock wall, swinging on the trapeze, and playing on the big trampoline. My coach Miss Kelsey is always there in case I fall, but I'm proud to say I've needed her spotting less and less!
For the finale... a somersault with a great big smile!

Totally exhausted? Only for a minute. I'm loaded with this kind of energy all day long! So I take a little rest in the pit, which is filled with squishy foam squares, then I get stamps on my hands and feet before I go! What more could a little boy want to do in one hour!?

My Friends

Some people have security blankets, some have lovies. I have "my friends". They cuddle with me and help me feel safe when I'm going to sleep.

It all started when Mama bought me my pumpkin for my first Halloween. From that night forward, I just had to sleep with it, grasping tightly onto its stem. When the next Halloween rolled around, Mama bought me a ghost to go with Pumpkin. Little did she know, Pumpkin got kicked to the curb. Ghost was my new bestie.

I also have Duckie and Monkey. Sometimes I rotate them, favoring one above the others. Right now I'm pretty tight with my bear, but I wasn't hangin' with him much when Mama took these pictures. What can I say? I love them ALL!

Wonder which one will go to college with me?

Candyman

Thoroughly enjoying the goodies from the Easter Bunny and the fun that comes from artificial colors! Yum!

My First Car Show

Back in April, we went to a small car show at a private home, here in Oklahoma. It was a mix of classic cars, hotrods and muscle cars. I had a blast, but was a little disappointed that I wasn't allowed to drive any of the cars on display! I found this Le Mans and decided just to stand next to it for a good five minutes... until I heard someone revving up their engine, getting ready to do a burnout. I thought the burnouts were awesome and have been practicing with my Hot Wheels (including sound effects)! I think my car obsession is here to stay!

Pascha 2010

Christ Is Risen! Indeed He Is Risen! Here I am on Easter - the morning after I attended my first Pascha service! I went in my pj's but was awake and quiet for the whole 3-hour service. Such a good boy...

Mama and Dada reminded me several times that Easter isn't about bunnies, eggs and candy - although I was allowed a free day to eat as much sugar as I wanted! They told me that Jesus died on the cross and then woke up and came out of the tomb! Not sure how much of that sank in, but hey, I'm only two!

Oma helped me with the Easter Egg Hunt at the Cohlmia's house. It was a perfect day to run around outside with friends and family. Can't wait to do it again next year!

A Day in St. Paul

Ohh yah! We spent a day in Minnesota, dontcha know! Lucky for us, our flight was overbooked on our way home from California, so we had a quick visit in St. Paul. Our friends Chris, Young and Alex live there, and it was super fun to spend the day with them. It was just like old times back in Sicily. We really wish we could see them more often! We went to the Mall of America, and Young was nice enough to drive us out to my Great Papa O's childhood home...

My Great Papa O was born in Canada, but he and his family moved to St. Paul when he was a kid. My Great Great Grandpa O built this house! He also built the house next door (pictured above) for my Great Great Grandma's sister and her family. When Papa O left Minnesota, he never looked back. Eventually, most of the family made it out to California. We still have some distant relatives in St. Paul, though. Mama is very interested in the family history, so it was very special for her to see where her Papa O grew up! Do we want to go back someday? Ohh, you betcha!

Family Vacation

After a week in Northern California, we drove down south for some fun in the sun! The drive wasn't too bad. I slept most of the way, but Mama and Dada were heartbroken to see miles and miles of dead orchards. Congress decided to cut off the water supply to thousands of citrus, walnut and almond trees in Califonia's Central Valley. For fear of waking me and having to drive 5 hours with a cranky kid, they didn't stop to take pictures. Click here for pics and info.

We spent a fun night in Los Angeles with friends, then headed east to meet Dada's family in Palm Desert. A whole week of nothing to do! Just family, sun, pool, swimming, lounging, sleeping in and eating out!

Here are the Morrow and Abraham grandchildren! Sittie Sherry and Giddi with Marlee, me, Zoey, Mia, Mackenna, Brock and Elektra. All in one place and color coordinated - pretty impressive!

I had so much fun in the pool. I'm very brave in the water. I don't mind going under, but I'm not the greatest at holding my breath yet. I LOVE when Dada throws me up in the air! Fun for me, good workout for him! I always love swimming with my cousins, too. They just need to teach me how to keep up with them!

Who knew two weeks of vacation could be so packed with fun!? NoCal with Mama's family, SoCal with Dada's, and a quick hello to Uncle Seany in San Diego before we left. Can we do this more often, please?

I Left My Heart...

...In San Francisco...AGAIN!! Really, it's Mama who keeps doing it, but I'm sure if we keep visiting like we have, it will be my second home, too. We kicked off our vacation in March with some of the best ice cream, ever. We were all too busy eating to take pictures, but Bi-Rite Creamery in the city is sooo delicious, and so worth the hour we waited in line. They have flavors like Earl Grey, Salted Caramel, Coffee Toffee... I could go on, but it wouldn't be fair to make you jealous!

We headed up to Santa Rosa - to Nana's, and were so excited to see the newlyweds - Walter and Mailie Pelen! Mailie is Mama's cousin. They live in Hawaii, and we NEVER see them, so it was really a treat to get to spend the week together! Dada was feeling at home in Wine Country and took us all to Jacuzzi Winery for a tasting. Auntie Rigi and Nana came, too. It was tasty... or so I hear.

To celebrate Walter and Mailie's new marriage, we took them to one of our favorite SF spots. The Cliff House has been a family favorite for generations. My Nana and Papa Linane (my great-grandparents) had their wedding reception here in 1942. An elegant crab dinner was 50 cents per head! The Cliff House offers great food in an amazing atmosphere. The restaurant has been in the same spot since 1863, although it has gone through a lot in that time! Check out their website. The history is very cool.

After a delicious lunch, Mama paused to snap this shot of the Cliff House and Seal Rocks. Nana and Papa used to swim in these frigid waters, and we have turn-of-the-century family pictures of men in suits and women in long dresses on this very beach. It's so cool to have roots in a place like this!
So, back to our day... we spent a few hours in Golden Gate Park, which is just down the road. It's full of museums, trails, trees and beauty!

My favorite part of the park was this bush that Dada kept pushing me into! I thought it was the greatest fun ever!

After a long day in the city, we were beat! So long, San Francisco...for now!

Before we made the road trip to Southern California, we stopped in Danville to visit my cousins Brian and Tyler. There really is never enough time together, especially when we live so far apart! We had fun spending a night all together and played at the park before we had to leave. We hope to be back to see our family soon!

Welcome, Grammy!

My Grammy just made the BIG move from San Rafael, California to Wichita, Kansas. Grammy had lived in California since she was 18, so I know it's a big adjustment for her. We are so excited to have her close by! It has been a treat to see her so often. I'm so glad I'll have more opportunities to get to know her now that she's just a few hours away!

Snow Day!

January in Oklahoma! Schools were closed, so I went out to play in the snow with my cousins!

We went sledding on a small hill near Uncle Marco's house. Boy! It was a blast! I was having such a fun time, I didn't mind freezing!

My first snow angel turned out perfectly!

Cutest little snow angel EVER!

White Christmas

Merry Christmas! Santa was very good to me. He brought me this big playhouse and lots of cars! Just what I wanted!

Our Christmas festivities began Christmas Eve with a blizzard! Mama was thankful to be home safe, but Dada wasn't about to miss out on family tradition. Church was canceled, but we braved the elements and very carefully drove over to Uncle Marco's for Christmas Eve dinner. We saw lots of cars along the way that had slid off the icy roads. Yikes! Christmas morning, I woke up and found lots of treats in my stocking. We had breakfast and opened our gifts, then once again drove the icy roads to Uncle Marco's.

My cousins and I had so much fun in the snow! I don't have the proper gear, so my borrowed mittens kept falling off. I was loving the snowball fight until my red little fingers started throbbing. Yeow!

For dinner, all the Morrows headed over to Aunt Nunu's. We ate together, and I played with my cousins. Although Mama was extremely stressed about being out on the dangerous roads, we got home safely and were happy Mother Nature didn't ruin our Christmas celebrations!
